Dole Salad: 99 cents-in the produce department-there are also coupons located right there for $1.00 off making them FREE (get there early to get a coupon, I suspect they will go fast-they also have recipes on them, but folded up inside is the coupon.)

FREE BETTY CROCKER POTATOES!!

Okay, so I have found on another website another deal. I posted yesterday that Wal-Mart had Betty Crocker Au Gratin potatoes for 94 cents. According to www.moneysavingmom.com you can purchase 3 of these at $1.00 each at Dillons, use 3- 40 cent coupons found at www.coupons.com (they are then doubled) making the purchase price 20 cents each for a total of 60 cents for 3, then the register will print a coupon good for $3.00 off your next order making the potatoes not only FREE, but a MONEY MAKER!

Another Find-Storage Containers

At Big Lots this week, they have the green "Always Fresh" storage containers that claim to keep your fruits and vegetables (and other foods) fresher longer. They are $5.00 for 5 containers and 5 lids (10 pieces). They are advertised at Walgreens for $9.99, so I think the $5.00 is a good deal. I brought them home, washed them and placed my fresh produce in them, so we shall see if they actually work, and I'll report back to you. I kept half of my fresh spinach in its original bag and the other half in the green container for a comparison. I've used the "Forever" bags, and they seem to work. Obviously, nothing is going to keep 'forever', but if you're like me, your produce spoils before you have a chance to eat it sometimes which is such a waste!

Some More Finds

Today I journeyed to Food 4 Less where I found fresh strawberries:
1# box-$1.24 and a 4# box-$4.98
They also have great deals on Hiland cheese in a 1 pound block the purhcase price is $2.94 but most of them come with a "Save Now" coupon of 30 cents making them $2.64 a pound.

At Wal-Mart this week, the Betty Crocker Au Gratin potatoes are just 94 cents. I had a couple of coupons-one for 40 cents, and one for 25 cents. One I found at www.coupons.com, the other was cut from the Sunday paper insert.

Let me know if you find any great deals this week.

This week's deals

Dillons has some great deals this week, especially if you have the specified coupons. They double the face value of the coupon if it is 50 cents or less. If it is 55cents to 99cents, they multiply its value to make it $1 as well-as long as it does not state 'Do Not Double'. For this week's deals, copy and paste the links below and check it out.

(When they use the initials SS they are referring to SmartSource Coupons-these are found in the Sunday papers, RP means Red Plum coupons) You can also download your choice of coupons from www.coupons.com
I know there is some way to be able to just click on the web address and have it automatically come up, but my blogger skills are not that great...yet. I'm learning everyday.

Something else I wanted to share: Chamber Sales has Charles Worthington shampoo and conditioners for $1.29 for an 11 oz. bottle. I have used these products and they make my hair really soft.

All of this is time consuming, but the more time you put in to it, the better the savings. Some people ask family members for their Sunday Coupons, others get them from the recycling bins at businesses. A rule of thumb is to try and get the same number of coupons for each item you intend to buy as you have people in your family...does that make sense? If you have 6 people in your family, try and get 6 of the coupon for the item you wish to buy, this is where the savings add up. For instance Dillons has Bird's Eye frozen veggies for $1, then the Smart Source coupon is for 35 cents, double that and you get them for 30 cents. If you only have one coupon, you can only buy one at the price, but if you have 6 coupons, you get 6 bags of frozen vegetables for $1.80.

I am still learning all of this...slowly. So I welcome any comments, suggestions, and overall help.
